Russell Sergent has always had a knack for business. He graduated college in 1988 and wasted no time starting his own business. He started with Pro-Source Distribution, a janitorial supply service. This company services Wisconsin and Illinois and supplies over 500 companies with paper, chemicals and other janitorial supplies. He found success with this business and dedicated many hours to the job for over 10 years.
In 1999, he decided to open a second store. He wanted it to involve something he enjoys and allowed his interest in snowmobiles to inspire him to open his second company, Pro-Source Xtreme. This company offers snowmobile parts, clothing, accessories and other supplies. It has also been very successful and has taken up a lot of his time.
In 2000 he was presented with the opportunity to become the owner of a Quiznos store. Because of the unique industry, it took him a while to learn how everything works and to get used to being a restaurant owner. After a while though things began to fall into place and his store like his other two business became successful. He appreciated the challenges the new experience brought him and was happy to be able to work through his problems and solve them to make his store a success.
Having always loved running and being active, he knew he wanted to open another store that would cater to the needs of likeminded people. He decided to open Fleet Feet Sports in 2008. He enjoys being able to offer supplies and gear to people who enjoy running as much as he does and considers this business venture a dream come true. He moved closer to his running shoes store in Milwaukee in 2009 and runs in successfully.
Although he is most excited about owning Fleet Feet Sports, he is also happy that his other three business are so successful. He is a very hands on person and he is still very involved with the everyday operations of not only his shoe story, but all three other stores and companies as well. Russell Sergent has found success as a business owner and it is all due to his hard work and dedication. He has always been a hard worker and someone who is easily motivated. His four companies and stores keep him busy at the moment, but there may come a time when he decided to open another business. If the opportunity presents itself, he may just take advantage of it. Until then, he is staying busy with his current company and by training hard for upcoming triathlons. He encourages other people to stay ambitious and follow their dreams.
